Fees
Fees for standard consultations are as below (from the 1st July, 2022).
Almost all consultations conducted at Westside Medical Centre are Medicare eligible, meaning that part (or sometimes all) of the cost of your appointment will be reimbursed to you by Medicare. Some consultations may attract rebates from others insurers, such as DVA for Veterans, or Workcover insurance if you have been injured at work.
A small minority of appointments (such as insurance physicals, commercial driver's licence medicals, or aviation medicals) attract no insurance rebate, and must be paid solely by the patient.
Medicare Consultations
Our fee schedule is the same whether your appointment is a face to face, telephone, or video consultation. Please note that due to Medicare requirements, Medicare rebates are only available for telephone or video consult if you have attended the practice face to face in the past 12 months.

Pensioners and children under 16 years of age are bulk billed.
Because of the complexity of the Medicare insurance scheme, it is often impossible to predict in advance the exact consultation as it will depend on the amount of time required to deal with your problem(s) as well as the procedures undertaken.
Your doctor may occasionally offer you a discounted fee, for example if you have to attend frequently for the same medical problem. Some services are often bulk-billed (no out of pocket payment required by you) and these include:
- Care plan consultations
- Health assessments
- Excisions of skin lesions
- Pap smears when undertaken by one of our women’s health nurses
Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Consultations
Veterans of the Australian Defence Force holding a white or gold card will be bulk-billed.
Workcover Consultations
Workcover consultations are provided according to the standardised schedule of fees. It may be necessary for you to pay the cost of your first appointment, but ongoing claims can be billed directly to your insurer.
If you have any questions about our fees, please feel free to ask our practice manager or any of our receptionists.
