Our GPs are all happy to see you for your general skin complaints - both skin checks to look for skin cancer, and general dermatology.
The vast majority of skin cancer management can happen at Westside Medical Centre, including the surgical excision of skin cancers. For a minority of more complicated lesions we may recommend review with a dermatologist or surgeon.
If you're coming for a skin check, we have a few tips
Let reception know you need a skin check if booking via phone, or select it via HotDoc. We allow extra time for these appointments in order to be sure we can be thorough.
Please ensure you haven't applied ANY make-up, creams or lotions before your appointment. We want to check your skin, not the effectiveness of your cosmetics!
Having a thorough skin check involves undressing to your underwear. Wearing clothing that is easy to remove and put back on is advisable.
Make you you are aware of any particular moles or spots that you have been worried about, particularly if they have been changing.
